CRITERION ACQUIRES FULL OWNERSHIP OF ST GILES LONDON HOTEL FROM IGB BERHAD

British real estate investment company Criterion Capital has acquired full ownership of the three-star, 732-room St Giles London Hotel in the UK, from Malaysian investment company IGB Berhad for £220 million (£300,500 per room). Criterion already owned the freehold of the site, as well as the adjoining YMCA, thus consolidating that entire site under its ownership.

The property is situated by the intersection of Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road, adjacent to the Tottenham Court Road tube station. The hotel includes three restaurants and three meeting rooms. The hotel will now be managed by Criterion’s hotel management arm Criterion Hospitality. In 2006, Criterion acquired the car park beneath the hotel and subsequently converted it into a Zedwell-branded hotel, which opened in 2023.
